Process

From the field to your reefer.

The handling sequence every consignment moves through, and why each step is where it is.

  1. Selection in the field

Lots are selected from our supply base against the caliber and maturity the order calls for, before anything is cut.

  2. Pre-cooling

Field heat is removed within hours of harvest. This is the step that decides shelf life at the far end.

  3. Sorting and grading

Produce is sorted for defects and graded by size to the agreed caliber code.

    To specification
  4. Packing

Packed to the agreed format — telescopic cartons, open-top, mesh bags or punnets — and labelled for the destination market.

  5. Palletising

Cartons are palletised, strapped and corner-protected for long-haul freight.

  6. Cold storage

Pallets hold at the crop's carrying temperature until the container is positioned.
